Sport Climbing

Sport climbers and organized groups receive special discounts!

One of the great attractions that "Hostel Izvor" offers to its guests is the Sport Climbing!

It is an extreme sport, a young discipline that is becoming more and more popular ! Hostel Izvor has an ideal position for those who want to try out this entertaining sport. Place Smokovac , in the center of which Hostel Izvor is located,  has become a very interesting field for all climbers who are keen on climbing. This path is divided into two fields and both of them are just 100 meters away from hostel:

* Sector above the railway line, across the hostel

* Sector above the gas pump behind the hostel

The rocks in this region offer the best opportunities for climbing short, sport routes and longer routes up to 120 meters high, due to its attractive and good quality, but also because of the vicinity and easiness to access this climbing area. The rocks are of the limestone type, gray and yellow color.

Climbing season begins in late winter (February, March) and lasts until late autumn (November, December ), but one can climb throughout the year, except in the coldest winter and the hottest summer days.  During the summer season, climbers need to pay attention to snakes, which they can run into. The potential for climbing and equipping routes are not nearly utilized. There are yet several sectors (blocks) for climbing to discover.

A large selection of different directions, different weight and complexity, and all of it at 100 meters from the hostel should be a reason to visit us and enjoy your stay in our hostel!

Submit your request and we can arrange a professional guide with equipment, for adequate fee.
